So the new iPad 3 is here. How dos iPad 3 compare with iPad2 feature wise?
Lookwise the size is same and just by looking at it, it is difficult to tell the difference, but the power that lies within has changed. We sat down to compare the features and here are the major differences between the new iPad and the now older iPad 2…

iPad 3 vs iPad 2
High resolution Retina Display – Ipad 3 has 2048-by-1536-pixel resolution at 264 pixels per inch (ppi), compare that to only 1024-by-768-pixel resolution at 132 pixels per inch (ppi) for iPad2. This is the new Retina HD display now for sharper images at high resolution. The new iPad has a million more pixels than an HDTV and the A5X chip with quad-core graphics is what drives four times the pixels of iPad 2 with ease and fluidity. Moreover, advanced optics and ƒ/2.4 aperture and a five-element lens lets you capture much better images. A hybrid infrared filter also helps to block harmful IR light.

Better Cameras – The new iPad3 iSight camera now has 5 megapixel with tap to autofocus and has HD video recording (1080p) with in built video stabilization. The earlier iPad2 had a 720p HD camera only.
Thicker – The new iPad 3 has got thicker at 0.37 inch (9.4 mm), while the iPad 2 was a little thinner at 0.34 inch (8.8 mm). The overall size is same.
Heavier - The Wifi iPad3 is heavier at 1.44 pounds (652 g) compared to Wifi iPad 2 which was a little lighter at 1.33 pounds (601 g). The wiFi+4G Ipad 3 is also heavier at 1.46 pounds (662 g) compared to iPad3+3G which weighed at 1.34 pounds (607 g).
Better WiFi+Bluetooth – The iPad 3 features Bluetooth 4.0 technology compared to IPad 2 which had Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR technology. Wi-Fi + 4G also features support for the ultrafast 4G LTE (700, 2100 MHz), the next generation wireless technology for superfast web experiences which was not there earlier. iPad3 can also act like a personal hotspot if supported.
Higher Price – New iPad 3 is available for Wi-Fi ($499.00 16GB | $599.00 32GB |$699.00 64GB) and Wi-Fi + 4G ($629.00 16GB | $729.00 32GB | $829.00 64GB) compared to the now cheaper iPad 2 Wi-Fi ($399.00 16GB) and Wi-Fi + 3G ($529.00 16GB).
